We faithfully recreated the action from Forza Horizon 2 with race challenges, head to head time trials and gamers driving their teams to victory in a 4-day, ‘Fan-fuelled’ Supercar Road Trip, an adrenaline rush along the best driving roads in Southern Europe.
Teams of pro gamers and racing drivers competed to score points. Fans at home played their part by completing challenges. These converted to fuel, which contributed to the overall score for the team. On top of that, Forza Fuel gave fans in-games rewards and exclusive content – meaning they could take control of their favourite Forza supercar in their Xbox.
At the end of the road trip, the winning team with the most #ForzaFuel received prizes including an XboxOne, a copy of ForzaFuel, a GoPro camera, a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and more.
As a direct result of the campaign, 3.6 Million fans viewed the Challenge videos on Social Media. Also 417,000 people visited the Xbox website to find out more about the game, and 65,000 people registered for the launch.
The launch generated $1M in revenue and won three industry accolades including, British Interactive Marketing Awards (BIMA), The Lovies Awards and the DADI Awards.
